The Littlest Reed

My husband and I have one son whose 6yrs old, AJ. AJ was diagnosed at 2yrs old with autism. We were both nervous about having another baby so we just didn't. Well on December 2, 2008 our minds were changed when we saw those two little blue lines. This blog will chronical the pregnancy of the newest Reed.

7 months 2 days

I am officially in my last trimester!!! WOO HOO!! I still feel pretty good for the most part but I've noticed that I need to rest more between and during activities. My ankle was hurting for about 3 or 4 days last week but it feels much better now. I still have some pelvic pain but I think that's because baby boy is sitting low (like his big brother did) and it's just a lot of pressure down there.

On June 14th I'm going to be having a photo session with my photographer friend Aurora of Aurora Photography in Connecticut. She is actually building a workshop around me, so that should be really fun. Here is the picture I sent her to use for her advertising.

cravings - nothing specific, but I am going to have a hotdog and fries for lunch. Later I may have a milkshake....mmmmmm

itchy skin

OH MY GOODNESS!! My skin feels like it's on fire at least once a day and usually in the mornings. My legs itch so bad. The only good thing is that there isn't a rash, but damn it's painful. The same thing happened when I was pregnant with AJ and the only things that helped was either an extremely cold showers or warm oatmeal baths. This morning I made an oatmeal bomb to take a bath with. I really hope it helps this time because I'm about to start peeling my skin off with a dull steak knife.

Nursery Update

OK well the room is finally painted, the carpet has been cleaned, and we are starting to buy supplies (diapers, baby wash, lotion, etc...). I still have to find something to hang on the walls so it doesn't look so plain. I think the theme will be a jungle theme or something with animals. My mom and I are also gonna get crafty and end up making a lot of his bedding sets. We will still buy sheets, but the quilts and curtains we can certainly handle. I can't see spending $80 on a baby's bedding set when I can spend $25 on material and make it look just the same. I'll post pictures or a video of his room sometime next month after we get the bedding done.

cravings - anything SWEET (milkshakes, floats, ice cream, baked apples, etc...)

stupidity at it's best

Dear Nurse,

The next time you tell me that you can't find my baby's heartbeat and proceed to 'let it go' while giggling, I swear I will beat you within an inch of your life. If you try that shit again you will forfeit your own heartbeat dammit.

ps - the doctor did take over and found baby's heartbeat pretty quickly.

update: after a much needed nap and a hug, the doctor called me in the afternoon to apologize for the nurse's lack of sensitivity and professionalism. I doubt she was fired and I don't think I want that, but I'm sure she did get a stern talking to.
